I’m 19 and I pay a lot out of my paycheck for taxes. For example I make 390 but take home 300. Only getting 60$ back? Shouldn’t I be getting way more on my return?

You can only get the amount they withheld for Federal tax. If you are low enough income, you could get it all back. If not, and some of your income is taxable, you won't.

You never recover the amounts you pay for Social Security and Medicare. These amounts are put aside for your retirement by the government.
