Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

We'll help you get started or pick up where you left off.

I lost a 1099-MISC form but I know it was for $1600. How can I add this income to my tax return in TurboTax? I'd rather not contact the 1099-MISC issuer for a new form.

If you don't have the 1099-MISC, you also probably don't have the EIN for the payer, which TurboTax will ask you for before you can efile your return.

If you can't get that information, you could report the income as other self-employed income, under Self-Employment Income and Expenses, if this was for Nonemployee Compensation in Box 7 of your 1099-MISC. You'll answer some questions about this "business" and finally get to the screen Let's enter the income for your work. Check Other Self-Employed Income, then enter the $1600.

Make a note for your records that you reported your income this way, in case the IRS wants to match up the 1099-MISC with your tax return.
