I lived with my father out of the country for a few years but worked for the US during that time. Is that considered for being temporarily out of the US?

He was stationed overseas, so by extension I lived there but worked for a US-based organization.

Where you paid in the local currency in whatever country you happened to be traveling in, or was your pay credited to your bank account in the US? From your question it appears to be the latter. In which case you should use your regular US address.
