If you received income in 2019, the employer should provide you a W-2 no matter how low your earnings were. More importantly, you likely had income tax withheld and you'll want to make sure you get credit for that tax paid and, perhaps, refunded to you.
If you were hired on a contract basis, you should get a 1099 in most circumstances and you'll need to report that income too.
There is a filing requirement. Someone could hypothetically work one day and still need to file. Please see the chart below.
