This IRS website states:
An identity protection PIN (IP PIN) is a six-digit number that prevents someone else from filing a tax return using your Social Security number (SSN) or individual taxpayer identification number (ITIN).
If you have been assigned an identity protection PIN (IP PIN) and lost it or did not receive a CP01A notice, you will need to retrieve your IP PIN online or have it reissued to avoid processing delays.
If you file your return without your IP PIN
You are assigned an IP PIN if:

wrong. they are asking for a 5 digit pin. Not 6
@user17761917045 The 5 digit PIN in the File section of the program is NOT for an IP PIN. You can select any 5 digits. Then you have to enter your 2024 AGI from the 2024 federal tax return Form 1040 Line 11 for your electronic signature.
If they are asking for a five digit pin than that is a filing pin that you create yourself. The IP PIN is six digits.
If you are getting a rejection, make sure you are not confusing the 6-digit IP PIN with a 5-digit self-select PIN from a previous year.
An IP PIN (6 digits) is an IRS-issued number used to prevent identity theft by verifying your identity. The five digit filing pin is a self-selected PIN used to electronically sign your return.
