I just purchased turbotax home business 2016 and it wont run on my Mac OSX 10.8.6. Help please?

When opening TurboTax for Mac after installation, the TurboTax "checkmark" icon bounces a few times before disappearing from the system tray.

You may also see an Error: “TurboTax 20xx cannot be opened because it is from an Unidentified Developer”.
Solution

Please make sure the following settings are set correctly to allow TurboTax to install;

• Make sure you have Administrator Rights, and that the user account is the admin account.

• From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences > Security and Privacy > General.

• Then select Anywhere under Allow applications downloaded from (if unable to select it, click the lock icon and enter your admin password).

After opening TurboTax, you can put your computer's security settings back to the way they were.

If you have recently upgraded your operating system to OSX 10.12 Sierra please follow the below steps.

1. Make sure you have Administrator Rights, and that the user account is the admin account.
2. Navigate to Applications folder.
3. Right click on ‘TurboTax 20xx icon. (If you are are not using a mouse, hold down your Control Key then click on the TurboTax 20xx icon.)
4. Click Open (If you aren't uising a mouse, select Open from the popup screen)
