I just filed 2017 taxes I noticed my standard deduction was $7900.00 I was born in 1950 that should raise it by $1550.Am I wrong?

The Standard Deduction for a Single Taxpayer is $6,350.
You are correct, this amount is increased by $1,550 for a Taypayer over the Age of 65, increasing it to $7,900.
