If it is not possible to obtain this, you could use a good faith estimate of the breakout between the labor and windows. Keep in mind, if you are audited this will be more difficult to prove, so ensure you are reasonable in your allocations. I would suggest researching the cost of the same model of window you had installed, if possible, and keeping it with your tax records.
Thank you for your input. I’m unable to reach out to Pella for pricing since I don’t even have a detailed measurement for any of the windows in my contract. Based on other information I’ve gathered, I’m going to assume a generous 100% markup for profit plus installation. I’ll break the 14 windows down by size with my own measurements, and try to get good faith estimate in place for each window. Even if I don’t get much of a tax break, It’s better than nothing, and I have proof the project was done.
