I haven't received my W2 from my last two employers but I have my last two check stubs. How can I obtain them. They where mailed out but I moved in the process.

If you are unable to have the employer re-mail the W2s to your new address or send them to you via email, you can use your last check stub for each.  You will be asked for the employer identification number.

This is called a substitute W2, Form 4852.  The IRS does want you to make every attempt to obtain the original documents but provides this outlet so you can get your return filed.

Record your W2 as if you had the actual form.  When you come to the "W2 Uncommon Situations" screen select "Substitute".  (image attached)

It's really easy to add the W2 in TurboTax Free.  You can use the steps shown here.

You can go directly to the area to enter your W2.

1. Sign into your account and select your current return.

2. Select  My Account on the top right and then select Tools

3. Select Topic Search (see attached image)

4. Search for W2 and select Go

5. Follow the interview to enter your information.
