the way back on the tax bandwagon is to file a 2022 tax return.
@a7b014600755 - you may want to find someone local to help you out.
first, if you were due a refund, the deadline to claim that was within 3 years of the original tax filng deadline, so for all the years prior to 2019, the deadline has passed.
for 2019-2021 - you can still file to obtain a refund. Depending on your income level, the local VITA and AARP organizations would do them for free during February - April 15. you can google each organization in your local community.
Seeking local help is your best move. If you have not filed a tax return in 8 years, do you even have your W-2's, 1099's, etc. that will be needed in order to catch up on preparing tax returns? If you do not have them we can help with suggesting ways to get them.
But.....TurboTax cannot help with any year earlier than 2019. As already mentioned, if you could have received a tax refund for any of those earlier years, you have forfeited the refunds. But if you owe tax for those years, the IRS still wants to be paid. A tax pro can be more helpful to you in that situation and may be able to negotiate with the IRS for you.
Each tax year's return has to be prepared and filed separately. They cannot be combined in any way.
It is a good thing that you finally have decided to catch up. If you provide some details about your situation---without any personal information---we may have additional suggestions for you.
