SOME entries from he K-1 forms MAY need to have direct form entries in the forms mode so a downloaded program may be needed. You can use ANY of the downloaded programs (Basic if you don't need a state return and Deluxe or better if you do) but you would need at least the Premier version or better if you use the online program. You can start in the online if you wish and switch to the downloaded version if needed.

When you use desktop software, there is an additional fee to e-file a state return. You can avoid that fee if you print, sign and mail the state return. The state e-file fee is $19.99 and increases in March.
even the desktop versions have step-by-step mode to make it easier to enter k-1 data. but whether online or desktop you have to understand what's on the k-1 to enter it properly. this is true of all do-it-yourself apps.
