I have W-2 for part of the year, and self-employed independent contractor for the rest of the year? I also have a W-2 for my wife. What plan works best for me?

If you have expenses to count towards your self-employment income, you will want to use TurboTax Self-Employed.

If not, you can use Premier.

You can enter Self Employment Income into Online Deluxe or Premier but if you have any expenses you will have to upgrade to the Self Employed version.  Or any of the Desktop programs.  But you will get the most help in the Home & Business version.
