I have used turbotax for 8 years. Why didn't it populate last year's information?

You have to use the exact same account and user ID in order to transfer the tax file from 2020 to 2021 and have the information from the past year populate the return.   Did you use the same account and transfer the tax file at the very beginning before you started to enter any new 2021 data?

@rasmith576 Please read the reply that is directly above your own post.   If you used online software then you have to use exactly the same account and user ID to transfer the previous year data in to the new return.  If you use the CD/download you have to perform the transfer at the very beginning ---when you start the new return and BEFORE you enter any new 2021 data.

It does if you created the 2021 TurboTax online account with the exact same User ID you used to create the prior year online account.

Use this TurboTax account recovery website to get a list of all the user ID's for an email address.  Run the tool against any email addresses you may have used - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/account-recovery
