I have started on my return, have a land sale, and need to upgrade to Premier for the land sale on the return. How do I upgrade to that so I can add the 1099-S info?

It looks like you are in the TurboTax Self-employed (online). TurboTax self-employed can handle a 1099-S land sale.

In the upper right search field type ‘land sale’ then select the ‘Jump to land sale’ link. You will land on the Did you sell any investments in 2016 page.

  • Select Yes
  • Select No on the Did you get a 1099-B page.
  • On the Choose the type of investment you sold page, select Land
  • Continue with interview to enter net proceeds, sale date, how acquired, original cost, etc.
  • Gain/Loss will be computed and transferred to appropriate form
