Any side jobs or independent contractor work for which you received a 1099-NEC, or no tax form at all? Those are considered to be self-employment. You do not need to have a company for this. The neighbor kid who shovels your snow or mows your lawn is self-employed, for example.
If you didn't have self-employment income (Form 1099-NEC), you should not pay self-employment tax. Check your entries, maybe you accidentally marked that some of your income was self-employment or business income.
