I have received a notice to pay a tax bill for 2023, but I have already paid this bill and have received credit for it by the IRS.

I mailed a check to the IRS in March 2023, the IRS received the check and noted so on my IRS account page. In March of 2025, I received a "Final Notice" demand that I pay this same bill again. I immediately mailed a check for the full amaount, but the next day, I found upon review of bank records, that the payment had already been made, so I called the bank and voided the check. The demand for payment is still on my IRS page.
