You wasted your money buying two CD's. Hope you can return one. Each CD can be used to e-file up to 5 federal returns. You can even prepare more than that for various family members if you print and mail the additional returns.
If the software you purchased was Deluxe then you need to check whether you got it with or without state software. Retailers sell it both ways since some states do not have state income tax. If you bought it without state software then it is an extra fee to download a state program. Or if you purchased it with one state, you can download a second different state for a fee. If it included the state software then there is only an extra fee for e-filing the state. You can avoid the e-file fee if you print and mail the state instead of e-filing it.
But you cannot install two TurboTax CD's to the same computer, nor is there any need to do so.
