I have MISC income from a different state than where the rest of my income and home is. Do I need to change the way I report it?

On the Federal return is gets reported the same as the other income. 

Then if this income was actually earned in another state, (not just the issuer of the 1099Misc being from another state), a non-resident state return may need to be filed.

It would depend on how much it is and what state ii is, as the states can vary significantly on if a return is required. There are also some states with no income tax.
