I have made it to the end, I have made my payment with my debit card and it has already been placed through my bank, but I cannot proceed to step 2 to file my returns.

Not getting past step 2
This is most likely because you have forms in your return that are still in the process of being updated by the IRS.
Click on Review at the top of the program screen. In the Review section is a screen that shows the forms and schedules included in your tax return that have not been finalized and the date they will be available.

NOTE: Any returns that include Earned Income Credit and/or Additional Child Tax Credit will also be held until around mid-February. And refunds from those returns will start releasing in late February.
