Tried to file electronically with H&R Block in 2023. Was alerted someone used my SSN to file a return. I filed all the necessary paperwork and got IP PINS for me and my kiddos. It took 7 long months, but IRS ruled in my favor and said YES someone did steal your SSN. I finally received my tax refund after 7 months. I was told tax year 2024 would be easier. I would receive my IP PINS in the mail for my kiddos and I could get mine online. I did. Received my kiddos yesterday in the mail. Today I tried to file electronically on Turbo Tax and I get to finalize it and was told "Your Transmission didn't go through. Duplicate SSN, a tax return with the same SSN has already been submitted. In other words it appears you're trying to e-file the same return twice. If you need to change this return, you'll need to file an amended return on paper by mail"
NO, I did NOT try to e-file twice. Now, I was told by not only IRS but so many other people in Reddit that once I got IP PINS....ANYONE who tried to file electronically would be rejected if they didn't have all four IP PINS written on the tax return. How is MY tax return (the true authentic return) being rejected with the valid IP PIN information on it?? Do I REALLY have to file by paper again??? I can't stand to have to deal with this whole waiting game for another 7 months. I thought the iP PINS protected me and anyone who tried to file would be rejected...not MINE. HELP!!!
