NO, they will not "combine"---and you cannot install/downoad both of those desktop versions of the software. Choose one and get a refund for the other one. You cannot put two versions of desktop software for personal returns on the same computer. The federal e-file limit is five. It is an IRS limit. You cannot get around it by putting two versions of desktop on your computer. If you have more than five federal returns to send, the other ones can be filed by mail.
To request a refund for a TT product
No. You can only have 1 version installed at the same time. You don’t need 2 programs. All the Desktop programs have the same forms. You just get more help and guidance in the higher versions.
There is a way to have 2 licenses. Under Help - Switch Product - Activate new product. Don't know what that will do or what benefit you will get. Don't think it will allow you to efile more than 5 or get another free state.
And 5 efiles is an IRS limit on personal returns.
