I have been deducting pts on 2nd home mortgage for last 2 yrs. have paid off sig princ and will pay rest in '18. Can I accelerate pts deduction as I pay principle off?

Nope. But any remaining points not already deducted can be claimed in the year that the loan is paid in full.
