I have already filed federal and state return. NYS requires electronic filing but I choose mail. How do I electronically file my state return now?

If you mailed your federal return, you can’t go back and e-file any state return.  State returns can only be e-filed at the same time, or after, the federal return is e-filed.  Print your state return and mail it in.  This is an allowed exception to the NY requirement to e-file.
