I have a subscription to TT. can I let my son use it on his laptop to do his on taxes??

By "subscription" do you mean you are in the Advantage plan and have the desktop download software? With desktop software, you can use the download on up to five computers that YOU own----and the downloads will all be linked to your own account. Does your son live in your home?

The program won't know who is using it, but it's intended for one licensed user to prepare up to 5 returns. The program can be installed on up to 5 computers that you own, but you can't "give" your license to the product to someone else.

TurboTax desktop (CD/Download) allows one user to install the software on up to five computers they own, capable of preparing multiple returns for family/friends, with a limit of five federal e-files.

The TurboTax 100% Accurate Calculation Guarantee ensures TurboTax will pay penalties and interest if its calculation error causes a tax penalty. However, the person purchasing the program is responsible for the entries made.
