I have a single member LLC in California. I received a 1099 for a distribution of dividends from some stock. Where do I enter the information in Turbo Tax?

Were the dividends issued to you or your LLC?

If the dividends were issued to you, individually, include them in the personal side of the 1040.

  1. Click Personal > Personal Income
  2. In the Interest and Dividends section, click the Start/Update box next to Dividends on 1099-DIV (even if they are not reported on a 1099-DIV)
  3. Click the Yes box on the screen, Did you receive any dividend income?
  4. On the next screen, choose I'll type it in myself and click Continue.
  5. Enter the dividends on the next screen.

If the dividends belong to your LLC, report them as Other Income in the Business income section.
