No they are not estimated payments on your tax return. Estimated payments are made quarterly to cover self employment or issues where paycheck withholding is too low for income received.

No, you will only enter them under household employee, the estimated tax payment section is for payments you made for your personal tax liability that are not entered elsewhere.  If you enter them in both sections, you would get double credit for the payments.

When you complete the Nanny and household employee tax section in TurboTax, you are asked to enter the amount of tax you withheld from your employee. If you then paid those taxes in to the IRS by sending in an estimated tax payment under your social security number, you would enter that as an estimated tax paid in TurboTax.

First how did you file the nanny expenses ?    Did you file the Sch H on the 1040 tax return ?    Or did you file separate  payroll tax returns quarterly and issue a W-2 ?

We used a payroll agency. We received a schedule h. We also paid taxes quarterly, but I think this is on the schedule h form? Am I completely off base?

No, you are not off base.  You will use the Schedule H to prepare your tax return.  The taxes you paid quarterly should be estimated tax payments and entered as such on your tax return.

Enter your payments as follows: Estimates and Other Taxes Paid section. You'll find this section in Deductions & Credits under either the Federal Taxes tab or the Personal tab, depending on the product. For a shortcut, type “estimates paid” in the search box and use the “Jump to” link.

To enter your Schedule H use the following information:

Other Tax Situations > Additional Tax Payments > Start/Revisit next to Nanny and Household Employee Tax,
