1098 or 1098-T?

1098-T College tuition. There's a new urban myth among college students that says they can get a $1000 from the government just for filing a tax form. For most of them, they simply aren't eligible. A student, under age 24, is only eligible for the refundable portion of the American Opportunity Credit if he supports himself by working. You cannot be supporting yourself on parental support, 529 plans or student loans & grants. You must have actually paid tuition, not had it paid by scholarships & grants.  It is usually best if the parent claims that credit.  And there's a good chance you parents already claimed the 1098-T; which means you can't now file amended returns

1098 Mortgage Interest.  Mortgage interest is only an itemized deduction. If you do not have sufficient other itemized deductions to exceed the standard deduction; you will little or no benefit from filing amended returns.

You can still amend 2014 or 2015.  It is too late to amend any other prior years' returns to get a refund.
