I have a dependent that owes child support. Would the IRS take my tax return if I claim them to satisfy their debt ? Or take any amount of credit I get for them?

The person lived with me the whole 2017 year and didn't have a job so I supported them but I wouldn't want to claim if IRS would take any debt owed by my dependent

The IRS will not seize your tax refund for the debts of a dependent claimed on your tax return.
