The information in the TurboTax article will be helpful and entering the Form 1099C should prompt the Form 982 based on your answers. The steps to enter it directly are included here for you. This will require an upgrade to TurboTax Deluxe.

If you are using TurboTax Online:

1. Go to the search bar in the top right corner

2. Enter "Form 982"

3. Select "Jump to form 982"

4. Continue through the interview questions to enter the appropriate information.
