I have a 1095B from Jan to June, and 1095A from July to Dec. 1095B doesn’t give tax credit info. Where do I show I had insurance all year for both A and B?

My CPA says he needs to put a premium tax credit amounts along with the documents but my 1095B doesn’t give that information

When you enter the Healthcare Section, indicate that you had insurance all year. You will asked if you had insurance through the Marketplace, answer yes. Enter your 1095-A. If you have any month on your form that has a zero, leave it blank in the program.

You need do nothing with the 1095-B.

When you enter the Healthcare Section, indicate that you had insurance all year. You will asked if you had insurance through the Marketplace, answer yes. Enter your 1095-A. If you have any month on your form that has a zero, leave it blank in the program.

You need do nothing with the 1095-B.

Thank you for your response. So leave the spaces blank in the healthcare section asking for premium and tax credit amounts for January through June but enter it for July through Dec? It  won’t be incomplete only having it for five months out of the year?

Yes, leave blank for months not under ACA, fill in spaces with amounts in months covered by ACA.

You have insurance all year. If you didn't have ACA, that would be all you have to do. It is not incomplete if done this way.

Are you saying that a 1095B  is not ACA? I was under the impression it was.

No, it is not Marketplace insurance. Form 1095-B is used to report certain information to the IRS and to taxpayers about individuals who are covered by minimum essential coverage and therefore are not liable for the individual shared responsibility payment.

1 More question please... My gross income from everywhere was more than $10,000, but not while I was a New Jersey resident. My gross income while I was a partial year New Jersey resident was only $1,000 from Colorado. Do I still have to file a New Jersey return?

You hve to look at the filing requirement for party years residents for NJ. You have to report all your income regardless of where it originated, for your home state.

The language is unclear. It says you have to report your income from “everywhere” if the filing threshold exceed $10,000. But does that mean as a New Jersey resident? I was a partial year resident in New York but that has nothing to do with when I moved to New Jersey and made income in CO. I’ve asked four CPAs here and no one knows

So, if as a part year NJ resident, your income does not exceed the amount needed as a filing requirement, you don't need to file. Every state has its own filing requirement, some are very low. Apparently NJ is high.
