If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created.  TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.

If you started your 2024 tax return using TurboTax Online and did not file it yet, then you can't continue the 2024 tax return online.

Please follow the instructions in this TurboTax Help article on how to finish your 2024 tax return.

If you started your2024 tax return using TurboTax Desktop and did not save a backup copy of your return, then you have to start all over again.

To clear up a bit , I spent the $130 for home and business and downloaded it on to my computer, all the files are there but when I click it says I need the turbo tax program to open them. The program was gone once the computer got reset. I need to get it downloaded again but don't know how and not repurchasing it.

Note - Look at the top of the page for 2025 and 2024, click on 2024
