The IRS is WAY behind on processing paper returns; assume 6-9 months from the time you mailed it. Plenty of articles on the internet about how woefully behind the IRS is.]
Thank you. But it was just rejected once again. AGI numbers don't match (?)
@gitw629766 In your post above you said that you mailed your return and now you are saying you tried to e-file. What are you trying to do? If you mailed it then it has been filed and you do not need to file again. Mailed returns do take longer to be processed. When the IRS opens your envelope they will enter your return into the system and then you can track your refund on the IRS refund site.
I e-filed on TurboTax but was rejected because AGI numbers didn't match the year's previously and was instructed to mail in. They didn't like my Social Security number, e-mail address, or password either. TurboTax stated none of it matched and I would need to mail in my forms. I keep refiling with TurboTax as instructed and get rejected again within the hour. There is nothing I can do to make those numbers the same in the eyes of the IRS. They are identical. When checking status on IRS App it says information does not match. It's a circle game. Turbotax says, "We'll help you" only to be rejected again by the IRS. I will never use them again. They say they will help you but they don't, assume everyone is a CPA, and don't offer alternatives or contacts . People seem to think it works for them but it is not for those who are not technologically savvy. I simply will not be able to receive a refund this year without visiting a tax preparer and trying to refile. Unfortunately my tax preparer of 17 years retired last year and TurboTax is not working for me. There is a fault in their system.
You can speak to a person, you just have to go through the procedure to do that. You can get TurboTax support contact information, including phone numbers, at this link: https://turbotax.intuit.com/support/contact/index.jsp
