Please explain. What type of health insurance are you referring to? Why do you believe it has reduced your tax refund by half?
Health insurance premiums paid is only entered on a federal tax return as an itemized deduction on Schedule A. If you do not have enough itemized deductions then you receive the Standard Deduction for your filing status.
Or did you have health care insurance through one of the state Marketplace Exchanges or through helathcare.gov and received a Form 1095-A.
It was through the Marketplace and yes I used my 1095=A form. I received the info for the insurance policy and tried to used it and get it corrected for January and February in 2022, Then I tried to cancel it and did not know until I did my taxes they kept it going for 4 more months! So now I lose $2496 on a product that I was Never Able to Use? How in the world is this right?
If the number of months that you were covered for health insurance through healthcare.gov in 2022 are incorrect or the amount of the Monthly advance payment of premium tax credit shown in column C for each month is incorrect then you have to contact healthcare.gov to get a corrected Form 1095-A.
