All of your W-2's have to be entered on the same tax return so that your total income is on your tax return.  Then the software calculates accurately whatever child-related credits you qualify for.

ALL W2s and ALL kids get reported on the same ONE return...you don't file separate returns for each W2.

use the same calculation for all your withholding W-4s.

See the instructions attached to the form for the correct number to claim.

I hadn't considered this might be referring to a W4 allowance situation.
