I regret you are getting this message.
You will need to delete and redo your state taxes. You can perform this by clicking State Taxes, then Prepare You State, then clicking the Delete option next to it. At that point you can start over and select your state. Go through the process of completing your state return again. This should solve the problem.
I have also found that if you have two state returns, you need to delete one state, file one state, then go back and file the second state. This may help also.
I live in Florida and do not have to file State Taxes so I SKIP the step and still get the message. No problem last year, filed the same way.
Please follow the instructions below to remove the state from your return.
How do I delete my state return in TurboTax Online?
But what if you HAVE paid already?
It says you can't delete the state return if you have already paid?
And how would that fix this issue?
You are posting on an old thread from last year.
The formset message can occur when some of the forms that are required for your tax return may not be available yet or are not supported for e-filing. If that is the case, the program will not let you e-file. You can check the status of form availability in the below TurboTax FAQs:
Please click here for a list of situations that will keep you from e-filing. If you continue to have issues please see the link below to contact one of our TurboTax representatives:
What is the TurboTax phone number?
I do not have any forms other than W-2s and T-1098 forms on my efile. I've checked the availability. Turbo Tax checked and confirmed I could file. I've been forced to pay for deluxe only to have a representative hang up on me when they could not figure it out.
