I fixed an incorrect SS number for a new dependant, but my return keeps getting rejected for the same reason. I've checked and everything is correct. Any ideas?

OK ... you said NEW dependent ... if you mean newborn then you will need to wait and refile again in a week or 2 since the gov shut down has the correlation of new SS#s from the SSA to the IRS are behind the normal schedule ... usually they are update in about 6 weeks but now it will probably be longer ... so patience will be needed.  Try filing once a week until you succeed.
