Did you get married in 2022?
"....like normal..." Did you change your filing status from Single to Married?
When you went through My Info it would have asked you if you were married in 2022. Did you say YES? Look at your Form 1040----what do you see at the very top for filing status? Which box is checked? Single? Married Filing Jointly? Married Filing Separately? Head of Household? Qualified Surviving Spouse?
In order to file a joint return with your wife you needed to say YES to being married, then it would ask if you want to file together with your spouse. You had to say YES. Next it would ask for your spouse's name, Social Security number, etc. After all of her information was entered, then every income screen would have had a spot with your name and a spot with her name so that all of your income could be entered on that one joint tax return.
If you messed up, you need to wait for the return to be processed and then you have to amend. Post back at a later time for help to amend. The Form 1040X that you will need is not yet available.
If you married in 2022 and you filed a return with a filing status of Single, you will need to amend that return to change your filing status and to report your wife's income if you file a Joint return.
Before you can file an amended return, the original return will need to have been processed by the IRS (refund issued / payment processed). Also, Form 1040-X for filing an amendment won't be available in TurboTax until February 23, 2023. See here for more information on forms availability.
See here for more information on preparing an amended return with TurboTax.
Be sure to correct your filing status by amending your return by the filing deadline of April 18, 2022, to avoid penalties for late filing or understating your tax.
There are times when you should amend your return and times when you shouldn't. Here are some common situations that call for an amendment:
