I filed my taxes and i owe state my federal refund was 1767 and says im getting 1626 back does this mean they paid my state for me so i dont have to mail a check in?

No, it does not mean that at all.  It is impossible to pay your state tax due from your federal refund.  You have to pay the state tax yourself using your state's preferred method of payment.  You may be looking at a summary that shows the difference between your federal refund and state tax owed--that does not mean federal is paying state.

Thank you very much i was directed to mail a check to the irs for the state so i am going to get the full 1767 from federal then write a check for state
