I filed my 2022 return with Turbotax and my return was rejected due to incorrect PIN. It is not incorrect, and the IRS said I should use it on all my returns. Help

 I used the AGI from the 2021 return that hasn't been processed yet.I used the same PIN on the three(for 2019,2020, and 2021) returns I sent in January.

If your 2021 return has not been processed that is why the AGI is not working to let you e-file 2022.  Try using zero instead.

Yes, xmasbaby0 is correct that if your 2021 has not been processed yet, you can enter your AGI as $0. 

 

But if the IRS said you must use your IP PIN when you file, it sounds like you have a six digit Identity Protection PIN, rather than the five digit PIN used to sign your tax return.

 

This is where you enter a six digit IP PIN:

 

  1. Sign in to your account and open your return. If your return was e-filed and rejected, you will need to click on Fix my return.
  2. Select Federal from the left side menu.
  3. Select Other Tax Situations on the left.
  4. Scroll down/ expand the list and look for Other Return Info.
  5. Expand the section and  click on Start or Update to the right of Identity Protection PIN.
  6. Answer the first question Yes.
  7. Select your name and click Add to the right.
  8. Enter the number on the next screen. 
  9. At this point, you can continue until you file your tax return.
