I filed for a federal extension . Now I find I can complete my return before April 15. How do I cancel the extension?

You do not need to cancel your extension. And you can still file your tax return by the due date of April 15, 2019.

An extension gives you certain rights up to Oct 15th, regardless of when you file your return.
