I filed as married filing separately. My spouse can't be claimed as anyone's dependent, but somehow that box is checked on my return. Is that going to mess up her return?

You will need to amend your return after your return has been accepted and processed and after you have received your refund or the payment for your balance due has cleared the bank.

When you amend your return (see instructions below), you will need to check the box as indicated in the screen shot below.

The box for "Someone can claim your spouse as a dependent" on my return IS CHECKED but it SHOULD NOT BE. This is an ERROR. Apparently during the Q&A part of the process I clicked on something I shouldn't have. So to reiterate, my spouse CAN NOT be claimed as someone's dependent. I noticed this AFTER filing my return. My wife does NOT have "Someone can claim you as a dependent" checked on her return (which is accurate). So there is a discrepancy between our returns. Will this be an issue with the IRS? If so, what should I do to correct it?
