You can e-file your return with an online version of TurboTax until such time as they shut down that functionality (which is usually late October).
In previous years, Turbotax only allowed e-filing through October 15. If you get a rejection, you can correct the error resubmit the e-file up to October 20, but you weren't allowed to e-file a new return after the 15th. I don't know if the cutoff date will be the same this year.
does this also apply to the desktop version?
i typically use turbotax online, but this year i'm working with the desktop version.
i tried googling it, but everything that comes up is about turbotax online
thanks

After October 15, 2024 TurboTax will shut down e-filing for the 2023 tax return. After that date the 2023 tax return can only be printed and mailed. This applies to both the online and desktop editions.
