I filed 2022 taxes using TT Desktop version. Can I upload that file to skip all the data entry to the online version like I can on the desktop version?

You can transfer the 2022 tax data file from your computer to the 2023 online tax return.

See this TurboTax support FAQ for transferring prior year tax data to the online editions -https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/import-export-data-files/transfer-last-year-return-turbotax-online/L279eUvY2_US_en_US?uid=lridoelc

Yes, it is possible to use your 2022 tax data file to get a head-start on your 2023 TurboTax Online return.

Take a look at the following TurboTax help article for detailed instructions:

You will need to have the .tax2022 file on your computer.  If you used the Desktop program last year here’s How to transfer into the Online version, expand the blue link if you used the CD/download last year........

If you already started an online return you will have to clear it and start over to transfer.  How to clear and start over

If you used the Desktop program before you may not like the online version.  It has less features and no Forms Mode.  You can only do 1 return.  Your return is only saved online so be sure to save both the .tax2023 data file and the pdf file to your computer when you are done.  In case you need to amend in the future or if you need a copy to get a loan or something.  You might not be able to access your online return when you need a copy.

Keep going.  The side menu with Tools will open up after a few more screens.  Last year I had to go through 12 screens.

Click on Continue or Review/Edit in any of the boxes listed on that screen so that you are taken to the 2023 online tax return.
