I entered my 2020 AGI correctly. I verified this via transcript through my online IRS account. It was still rejected. What should I do?

I eFiled 2020 late (two-ish months ago), but have email confirmation it was accepted and data available in a transcript through my online IRS account.

If it was rejected for AGI—-be aware that many 2020 returns took so long for the IRS to process that your 2020 AGI might not be in the IRS system.   Try using zero instead.

If filing with zero is rejected then file again but select the option that you did not file last year.  The IRS does not see that question and it will allow you to e-file with no AGI question.

If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.

If you have an email from TurboTax indicating the 2021 e-filed tax return was Accepted and a 2021 transcript is available from the IRS, then the IRS has your tax return.

Wait...something is not clear!

It sounds to me like you are "claiming" you e-filed your 2020 tax return ~2 months ago.

...(which is not possible to "E"-file using the TTX software...since 2020 filing completely closed down in October of 2021 ).

Clarify....

1) when and what software you used to file your 2020 taxes   ("Online" TTX software..."Desktop"/download TTX software, outside professional tax preparer? ).

and....

2)  what software you are now using to prepare and file your 2021 taxes?
