You can have up to 5 accounts that use the same email address for notification purposes.  A User ID may be an email address, but it doesn't have to be.  It might be only part of an email address, or it can be anything at all.

Here's how to troubleshoot for multiple accounts.  To get a list of your User IDs and recover account access, you can use the tool at the link below.  Try using your phone number first.   After that, if necessary, then run the tool on your email address(es) you can access.

NOTE: Before running the account recovery tool below, log out of all Intuit accounts including this user forum, or you might end up in a loop.  Then clear your browser Internet cache, close your browser, then reopen it, and go to the link below.  You may wish to copy this link so you can paste it into the new browser session.

If still no luck after running that on your phone number and email address(es) that you can access,  here's another method:

Go back to the tool again, but this time leave the data field blank, and choose the small blue link that says "Try something else", and it will look you up by SSN and other parameters.

If after all that, you still can't find your online return you started, here's how to speak by phone to TurboTax Support.

I entered 1099's online and now i cannot retrieve or find them. This occurred after i installed my CD 2017 Turbo Tax.

The online website version has nothing to do with the CD/download version.  They work independently.

Please explain what you are experiencing online some more.   Are you saying you are unable to find a 2017 return that you started online?    If so, we can tell you how to troubleshoot for multiple accounts.

Or do you mean you prepared Form 1099's to provide to other people?  Your question can be interpreted a couple of ways.

are you using desktop as you say you downloaded.  It appears you are using the online program though.

I used the online to enter my 1099's and then i loaded the 2017 Desktop CD.  I went back to add another 1099 and i can't find them now.

You need to transfer online to the desktop and continue your return in the desktop not online...  this link has instructions to transfer what you have done online to desktop.

You haven't explained what I asked for about your 1099's.    Were you preparing an online return and entered 1099's you received,  or did you prepare 1099's to provide someone else?   Are you referring to QuickEmployerForms?

I selected online 1099 initially.  The previous year was presented(3 of them).   I added the 'other income'.  Everything good.  I then installed desktop for 2017.  I went back to enter an additional 1099 and i just can't find it.  I know that there were multiple accounts .

If you have multiple accounts, we can tell you how to find the account with the online 2017 return you started.  But what do you want to do after you find it?

 Do you want to continue working on it online, or do you want to move to that desktop software?  i.e, do you want to download the *.tax2017 tax data file from the Online account and then open it and finish your return in the 2017 desktop software?

You do not work on it in both places.   They are two different products.

The link that Superuser maglib gave you above tells you how you can download the *.tax2017 data file you started online.  Then you can open it in the desktop software you installed, so you can continue working on it without starting over.
