I enter 7,088 and turbo tax changes it to 7,088,088

Try entering amounts without using any commas or periods  and only in whole numbers ( skip the cents).

Other: 

1) if on a phone, be sure not to have autocorrect turned on (But should probably never use a phone to prepare and file taxes in the first place)

2) If you are in Europe,  or recently been there, make sure your computer's numeric format setting is not set to any EU numeric formats......that may exchange commas for decimal points and might confuse the software.   Make sure the numeric format setting is set to a USA format.
