I employed with a w2 and not given health insurance. Can I deduct healthcare.gov premiums (don't qualify for subsidies) like self employed or must I meet >7.5% AGI?

For clarification I do not qualify for subsidies on the exchange. I plan to buy an exchange health plan

I am employed as a relief worked so they will give me a w2 but not provide health insurance only a retirement plan

Do I need to meet 7.5% AGI to deduct health insurance premiums? Will this be the case under current law in 2019?

Yes medical expenses will only be deductible if they exceed 7.5% of your AGI and you itemized deductions.
