I downloaded turbotax 2024 this year. I was not asked if I want to populated it with data from my 2023 return. That return was done an a Turbotax disk.

Assuming that you installed the 2024 TurboTax desktop software on the same computer as the 2023 TurboTax software, then the 2023 tax data file should be in the TurboTax folder within the Documents directory.  This assumes that you actually saved the 2023 tax return and not just a PDF.  The 2023 tax data file will have a file extension of .tax2023.

When you start a New Tax Return using the 2024 TurboTax desktop editions, the program will search in the TurboTax folder for all 2023 tax data files and the present those files in a list for you to select and transfer.  If the program did not see anything in the TurboTax folder, then you need to search your computer hard drive, cloud drive and any removable drives for the 2023 tax data file.
