I downloaded the turbotax deluxe on my mac and I want to use my same information as last year

If you used the Online version last year we can tell you how to transfer it into the Desktop program.  If you used a Windows computer you can just copy the file ending in .tax2015 to the Mac.  It should be in your Documents then in a Turbo Tax folder or search the computer for all files ending in .tax or .tax2015.

I used the online version last year. I have my login and all that but I can't find anything that says to move the information into the desktop program (turbotaxdelux 2016)

You will need to download your 2015 return onto your computer:

• Log into your account and go to My Tax Timeline
• Choose Load My Tax Timeline and then click on 2015
• It should give you a list of options for Some Things You Can Do on the right side of the box
• If you used a free version last year, you will need to purchase PLUS in order to unlock your 2015 return
• Once you have access to it you and download it. Be sure to save it as a .tax file

After you have downloaded your 2015 return to your computer follow these instructions to import it into your 2016 software:

• Open your TurboTax 2016 program.
• From the TurboTax menu, select Open Tax Return.
• Browse to where you saved the .tax2015 file and then click Open.
• (Optional) Review, edit, or delete the transferred information.

If you didn't save the .tax2015 file to your computer last year or can't get it now there is another way to transfer.  You can start a new 2016 Online return and transfer into that without needing to pay for 2016 online version.  Then you can download the current 2016 file ending in .tax2016.  Then you just OPEN it in the Desktop program to continue.
