Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

We'll help you get started or pick up where you left off.

I don't have an EIN at all. My 1099-misc from my investments is for some reason "requiring" one and I can't get around it. Turbotax just keeps taking me in circles.

I'm not employed. For some reason it's insisting I need this to efile. But when I try to hit file by mail it just takes me in a loop again demanding an ein. Help please

If you have a 1099-Misc, there should be an EIN on it from the entity that issued it.  It is listed as the Payers TIN on the form, directly below the payers name.

On the Form 1099-MISC an EIN would be entered in the box for the PAYER’S TIN.  Your Social Security number should be in the box labeled RECIPIENT’S TIN
